Towards an integrated model for solar Energy forecasting (PROSOL)

The central objective of the project is to develop a comprehensive solar power plant (both PV and solar thermal) production forecasting tool that optimally combines all existing solar radiation prediction methodologies. The tool will be developed based on machine learning and evolutionary optimization techniques. The achievement of the objective rests on the hypothesis that the combination of several predictions can improve reliability and that, with the help of machine learning and evolutionary computation techniques, the various sources of information for the prediction of solar radiation can be combined in an optimal way and in real time.
